Production Company Logo Comparison

Different production companies have different logos based on their specific genre. This can inform the audience of the type of film they're about to watch before the film is even revealed.

For example.

Woodshed is a production company that produce horror films. Their logo conveys the genre successfully as it has been made out of monochrome colours and has lots of sharp edges. This creates a dark mood as there is no colour we feel uneasy and know they don't produce bright and happy films. The jagged and pointy edges connote violence and horrors are often associated with this.

Another example of genre specific production logos is the Walt Disney logo. The castle in the background of the logo connotes to the audience that the films are fantasy and fiction. The font that is used for the title furthers the genre as it looks fancy. This could represent the princess elements within the films.

There are lots of different versions of the Disney logo, where some include colour. This suggests that the films they produce are uplifting and happy. This also tells the audience that the films are child friendly and mainly aimed at a younger audience.

We have analysed these examples of  production company logos to further our reasons for having a logo that can be used for lots of different genres in the film industry.
